Plant (entire)

Chrysanthellum is a plant in the daisy family (Asteraceae). It is native in South America and today it is cultivated in the highlands and savannas of Africa. It’s use as a medicinal herb is relatively recent; the plant has properties which regulate cholesterine levels and promote gall production (which may prevent gall stones). Chrysanthellum is also called ‘liver protection herb’ and is administered alternating with Lapacho (Tabebuia impetiginosa) and Thistle (Silybum marianum) to minimize the effects of overeating, nicotine and alcohol abuse (see also Kudzu / Pueraria lobata). Thanks to Chrysanthellum, the liver can metabolize alcohol up to five times faster; this helps avoid liver shrinking, as toxins are eliminated much faster than usual.

A regime with Chrysanthellum is recommended as a complementary measure to treat viral hepatitis.

The plant contains three bioactive molecules in a unique combination. Flavanoids, saponines and vitamin P promote peripheral blood circulation (vasodilatory effect) which is beneficial in treatment of varicose veins, couperose, reddened skin (facial erythrosis) and hemmorhoids, cold feet and hands. Chrysanthellum also improves blood circulation in the eye which may be beneficial with problems of the retina (e.g.bursting of small veins) and macula (degenerating).

Dosage
